The original comedy Neighbors was a rare non-visual effects-filled studio-released summer blockbuster, it ended up being a huge hit when it was released back in 2013. When inexpensive movies make studios huge profits, it usually means that the sequel green light isn’t far off – and the Nicholas Stoller-directed comedy is no different. Now Neighbors 2 is set for release next summer, and it has just been revealed that it has a subtitle which gives us some insight into what the movie will be about: Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Really, we should have seen this coming.
Production Weekly posted the full title, which seems to sync up with what we’ve learned so far about the sequel currently in production. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising will revolve around a sorority house moving in next door to the family played by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne from the first film. When they have trouble dealing with the sorority, they turn to their previous nemesis, played by Zac Efron, for help. We assume shenanigans ensue at this point.
As was confirmed earlier this week, Chloe Moretz has been cast in a major role in the film, and it’s expected that she will be the primary antagonist sorority sister. The female Zac Efron if you will. Moretz was the highlight of the Kick-Ass movies and we know Hit Girl could get pretty vile, so Moretz should feel right at home with the exceptionally vulgar comedy. In fact, we’re more than a little curious to see what this plot will have her up to.

Rose was quite busy in April and it looks like May won’t be more quiet as a few dates have been announced here and there on the web. I thought it might be interesting to collect all the informations and let you know her about what to expect in May!
May, 04 – Met Ball in New York
Rose isn’t officially announced BUT she appears in one guest list (JustJared) AND Penny Lovell (Rose’s stylist) is working on the event (Instagram). Rose may not be her only client but it’s still relevant.
May, 07 – Pratt Institute Fashion Show + Cocktail Benefit in New York
Rose is announced to honor Francisco Costa, women’s creative director of Calvin Klein Collection (Source)
May, 27 – ‘Spy’ European Premiere at Leicester Square, London (UK)
Announced by Paul Feig on Twitter. No list of the actors attending the even yet. (Source)
Also, the ‘The Meddler’ shooting is now over and ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ just began filming in Montreal with the ‘young’ cast.
After (and before) the bling of the red carpet, Rose took part yesterday in the 2015 Media for Social Impact Summit at the United Nations to talk about the It’s On Us campaign. If you don’t remember, Rose appeared in their campaign you can (re)watch here but now it looks like she taking her involvement to the next level by speaking about the campaign awareness campaign to fight campus sexual assault at the United Nations. Obviously, there’s not a lot of pictures of the ‘event’ apart pictures taken by people in the audience. I retweeted most of them on our twitter (@rbyrnesource) and here’s a preview. I’m personally really happy to see Rose taking part in this kind of important society subject, she proves she’s way more than a pretty face and a great actress which is why I’m truly a fan of her!

He got his first real acting break in crime thriller Two Hands alongside fellow Australian Rose Byrne when he was 20. And once his Hollywood career was launched in movies like The Patriot, Monster Ball and, perhaps most famously, Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger opened his Los Angeles home to struggling Aussie actors.
Recalling his inordinate generosity, Dallas Doll star Rose, who is judging this year’s Heath Ledger scholarship programme, told Sunrise on Wednesday: ‘He was an incredibly generous guy. […] He always had multiple people staying at his house, like me. There was an open-door policy, he always helped, and he would always pay for everything.’
The actress, who met the star on Two Hands – in which they played on-screen lovers- and later become a close friend in real life, said Ledger put himself out to help others. ‘He was such a generous person and that scholarship continues that spirit on.’
The Sydney-born star is on the judging panel of this year’s scholarship programme alongside actors Vince Vaughn and Ben Mendelsohn. Heath died at age 28, as a result of an accidental overdose of six different types of prescription medications in New York in 2008. His legacy of giving continues, however, in the scholarship that offers $10,000 grants to give Australia’s rising stars the chance to emulate the Oscar winner’s experience as an actor.
I’m really excited about this new project, it’s great to see how Rose is contributing to the industry and I can’t wait to her more about this! Also, I LOVE that it’s an all female production company with such great members!
While busy building an impressive resume overseas, Rose Byrne still has one foot firmly planted in Oz, and the Australian actress is one fifth of the new local production company, The Dollhouse Collective.
Byrne will be working under this banner alongside fellow friends and associates, actress/director Gracie Otto (who recently helmed the acclaimed documentary The Last Impresario), actress/writer Krew Boyland (A Place To Call Home), director Shannon Murphy (behind a string of well-received shorts) and publicist/producer Jessica Carrera.
The new production company is being cited as a move that “continues the charge for a greater representation of females across the industry”.
“The idea has been germinating for a while. We are close friends and we have worked together, so it’s been a natural progression. We realised we are a group of creatives and saw the opportunity to achieve more together than as individuals,” the newly form collective said in a joint statement.
The Dollhouse Collective has a number of projects in development and their current slate includes Seriously Red written by Boylan, produced by Matt Reeder, with Byrne executive producing Girls in Hotels helmed by Otto with Carrera producing the short feature When All the Water, helmed by Murphy, and scripted by Marisa Nather.

Hi guys, don’t forget to watch The Ellen Degeneres Show today if you can as Rose Byrne is one of the guests! I won’t be able to watch it unfortunately but I will (try to) post videos as soon as they are available!
Exciting news! We do hope she will be there but because Paul Feig also got an award, maybe we could for a little Spy promo trip!
CinemaCon just announced Rose Byrne has earned their Female Star of the Year Award which she’ll pick up during the Big Screen Achievement Awards on April 23, 2015 at Caesars Palace in Vegas. Byrne has a starring role in Fox’s Spy coming out soon as well as the indie film Adult Beginners. She’s also reprising her role as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Apocalypse and her role as Kelly Radner in Neighbors 2.
“A remarkably talented actress who has shown she can draw audiences in with both her comedic timing and remarkable dramatic talent, Rose Byrne is slated to take over the big screen this year with her upcoming role in Spy,” stated Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. “We are thrilled that we will have the opportunity to showcase Byrne’s talent with a screening of her upcoming film Spy and honored to be able to present her with this year’s ‘CinemaCon Female Star of the Year Award.’”
Byrne’s credits also include Bridesmaids, Damages, Annie, The Turning, The Place Beyond the Pines, Insidious, Get Him to the Greek, and 28 Weeks Later.
